Hi, Everyone!
This is a really good recipe from my Gramma for a super-easy chocolate cake. Now I know you all want to know what makes this crazy cake crazy! I hope the title wasn’t a turnoff, it’s really not that crazy. The crazy thing is how it rises. Baking Soda and Vinegar! And it doesn’t use any eggs! My little brothers love that, because it means that they get to taste the batter without getting the “that-batter-has-raw-eggs-in-it-and-you-could-get-sick-and-die” speech. 🙂
And without further ado, Ladies and Gentlemen…. Crazy Cake.
INGREDIENTS
3 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup dry baking cocoa
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 cups cold water
1/2 cup olive oil
2 Tbsp. vinegar
Chocolate chips to your heart’s content (optional)
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees farenheit
Put all ingredients in a mixing bowl and beat well. Then bake for 35 min. in a greased 13×9 pan.

Wow, that is really different. Is it really really crumbly/does it stay moist well???
It’s really good, actually. More of a pure chocolate flavor than most cakes, because there’s not a lot of cakey/eggy/doughy flavor to it.
Hmmm… I’ll have to try it. 😀
Oh and since there’s no eggs in the batter, that was the only cake mom ever let us lick the bowl on. 😉
