Back in October, Erin tagged me for this. And I’ve been agonizing over it ever since. I finally got them all listed down and written up this weekend, despite the fact that watching all the Back to the Future movies made it very much harder to leave all those characters off.
As it is, I ditched the whole “putting in order of favoritism” thing because I just… really couldn’t. These are in no order whatsoever.
Silver lining, at least this isn’t the “all fictional characters tag”. I would just about have a breakdown over that.
Well, see if we have any favorites in common.
Bolt
This is just such a sweet and creative dog movie to begin with. And Bolt is a great character to star. His counterpointed affection and loyalty with his tough get-stuff-done outside and threatening attitude to Mittens at first. Then top it off with a hilarious confidence in his nonexistent powers and a heroic quest with two mismatched companions for a great movie. 😉
And the ending always makes me go give my dogs a big hug…
Well, a dog had to make it on the list somewhere. 😛
Vanellope Von Schweetz
Admittedly one of the better-constructed girl characters I’ve come across. The glitch is a fun quirk and through she can be quite rude, her relationship to Ralph is really fun to watch.
Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III
The stuff that happens to Hiccup… wow. Even I don’t slam that much on my characters. But, hey, Hiccup takes it all, and with a good dose of humor, too.
Lucy
(While You Were Sleeping
For one, her story is extremely well written and funny, and two, her character is just so fun and loveable. She’s good at just loving everyone for who they are, which is really sweet to watch. Plus, she’s an ISFJ. I get her thought process. 😉 (Jack’s actually an ISFJ too, so I really get the thought process of the whole movie. 😛 )
Horatio Hornblower
Fergus Leatherhead is not a screen character, and that leaves Horatio as the sole ISTJ representative. Horatio is such a great guy, amazing problem solver and dutiful member of the royal navy it’s almost impossible not to like him. He applies logic and morality to every situation and isn’t shown as the fearless action hero in so many things. His doubts and nervousness on certain occasions really make him an amazing, three-dimensional character.
Archie Kennedy
Still in the Horatio Hornblower world, and there’s another awesome character that I couldn’t leave off (Bush and Captain Pellew probably would have edged on here if I had more room).
Archie is such a sweet character. And has probably one of the most infections smiles I’ve seen. 🙂 His optimism, though momentarily dampered at one point in his story, is great to see through all the horrible circumstances he goes through and he’s able to keep a good sense of humor. Yay for optimists!
Steve Rodgers
Uncontested, Captain America is my favorite superhero. And, honestly, it has nothing to do with his being a superhero at all. He’s moral and selfless though even the hardest of times. He puts his own needs last and fights for the good in the world tirelessly. I could go on for a very long time here, but I’ll leave it at that for description. I’m just very happy he’s out there as at least one good role model in the popular culture.
Benji Dunn
Partly because I just like Simon Pegg. But, really. Benji is awesome. I never thought one character could so effortlessly put so much great humor into action movies. It’s mostly situational, too. Not the suave, sarcastic, action-hero type humor, either. Mostly it’s his horror at a situation or his nervously pointing out something ridiculous. I think my favorite standalone quote is his mutter to himself while hacking the security for Ethan.
“Join the IMF. See the world!”
(beat)
“On a monitor.”
(beat)
“In a closet.”
He’s also undyingly loyal, really smart and enthusiastic. So, yeah. I like ‘im. 🙂
Matt Meese
Youtube counts, guys, okay?
Really, all the Studio C folks are awesome, but I think Matt gets me the most. The classic “only sane man” humor and jokes about being small especially. 😛 He’s really got the humorous reactions and facial expressions down, too. I don’t know, he’s just fun. 🙂
Inigo Montoya/ Westley
It’s a tie, folks. One of the great quandaries of my life. I couldn’t bear to leave either of these guys off, so I guess they’ll have to duel for it.
Well, that was fun. In a torturous sort of way.
Anyway, I’ll pass it on to the three people I think haven’t done it yet:
Gabrielle at Write for the King
Alyssa at writinganyone
and
Grace at grace notes + anecdotes
I’m so sorry, guys. Try not to freak out.
Well, comment please, as always!
Bye!
(I’ll just use my Benji gif again really quick here…)

Of course, we all already know who won that duel. 😛
I stole Bush’s clothes. (He and I are about the same size…) Because Eight stole mine. And now everyone in the mind palace is running around in other people’s clothes and I am poking people with Bush’s hat, BECAUSE. 😛
Also, apparently Eight has a cold, because Time Lords do get sick after all ? I guess?
Yes, but Westley winning doesn’t help anything because I always feel sorry for the loser. It’s still a tie. XP
*hands the doctor some soup*
😛
*ends up with soup in my hair* *pokes the Doctor* You’re a walking disaster area.
Oh, and I’m watching Ant Man. So, if I’d made that list a couple days later, he probably would have been on it.
*pulls some noodles out of your hair* Doctor, just sit down with the soup.
X-P
Ouch ouch… ouch!
Sock fight time! *smacks the Doctor with a pair of argyle socks*
XD We have a name for sock fights in our family. You have to say “buddysock” every time you smack someone. *smacks the Doctor with stripey socks* Buddysock!
*smacks you with fluffy socks* Buddysock!
*smacks Cobalt with polka dot socks* Buddysock! XD
*pokes the Doctor with a rolled-up wad of old worn cotton socks* ….boop?
😛
XD I like it! *pokes you with a tiny sock* boop.
*snows you under with an AVALANCHE of socks which are missing matches* FWOOOSHHHHH!!! X-P
AAAH! *pulls you down under the socks with me* (gosh, how did this start again?)
((I don’t know, let’s just run with it! X-D))
*goes swimming in socks* *drags Bush and Horatio into the sock-pool* X-P
*swims around in mismatched socks*
*music plays and the Indy sails up though the ocean of socks*
AHOY!!!! *throws socks at Rosey* X-D
AVAST! *buddysocks you*
HEY! *wallops you a good one with my brother’s boot socks* *dives into socks to escape* X-D
*climbs aboard the Indy and loads the cannon with a wad of socks*
Nooooooo *chases you and stuffs socks down your shirt*
*everyone stares at us in confusion*
(Like everyone wasn’t already… XD )
*stuffs more socks down your shirt* *fires some singed socks into the sock ocean*
*balls up socks and whacks you on the head* *makes a hat out of socks* You likey? 😛
*tips it* I do indeed. XD I shall wear it always… well, sometimes… XP *knots you a sock scarf*
Oh my! I love it! *puts it on and tosses it about sassily* X-D *starts throwing socks at Styles for no particular reason*
*Styles throws some back*
Oh, it is on! XD *throws some socks at Styles too*
*throws socks at Oldroyd* X-P
*throws a few at Archie* *Archie throws some back and we go chasing around the deck* XD
*slips on the deck and lands on my backside* Ow.
On second thoughts… *goes running across the deck and sock-skates* X-D
Ooh, good idea! We’ll swab the deck while we’re at it. *speeds up with sock skates and pummels Archie*
*runs into Captain Pellew* *he gives me a stern look* Sorry… *slides away screaming in terror*
(I can totally see his look right now… XD )
*tips my sock hat to him* sorry, sir. One way to get the swabbing done, though. 🙂
*is still running around screaming* *but partly because of fangirl-ness this time* *crashes into Matthews* *and hugs him randomly*
*throws a wet sock at Horatio* *Captain Pellew is observing everything sternly from the higher deck*
*crawls into the Sock Fight Fort* X-D
*makes a sock catapult and flings them at your fort*
FORWARD THE BUFFS! BLOOD’N’VINEGAR! *charges you with my fake Cap shield and a bunch of socks tied together at one end* X-P
AAH! *Archie and I pummel socks as hard as we can*
*climbs over the sock embankment and starts singing “Jolly Joe’s”* X-P
*sings a few lines with you, but then gets knocked over by a sock barrage from Styles*
Uh-oh! 😛 *throws socks at Styles*
*gets back up and throws some more* *gets pummeled again* Abandon ship! *knots together a sock raft and jumps overboard, knocking Oldroyd in on my way*
*stares blankly over the side* HOW IS THAT EVEN FLOATING… oh wait. The ocean is made of socks. *grabs Bush* C’mon, this is the PERFECT way to learn how to swim! *jumps in*
Whee! *jumps off raft to help Bush*
*splashes socks everywhere* *gets backhanded in the face by Bush* Okay, that was just rude. Don’t panic, Lieutenant. It’s just socks. You won’t drown. They’re even clean!
(That was the best mental image ever. Bush slapping you as you good off in a sea of socks. XDDD )
Here, Bush. Just swim over here to the raft. It’s a short swim. 🙂
((X-D))
*grabs Bush around the chest and tries to help* *ends up hugging uselessly* Okay, that was ill-conceived… Relax, we’ll start with just floating. Let your feet drift, it’s easy!
Especially in socks. Why don’t they always train naval officers
to swim this way? *waves up to the deck* Horatio and Archie! If you guys could give us a hand, I’m sure Mr. Bush would appreciate it. 🙂
Umm… Rosey… I think my hand is superglued to someone’s face… HELP MEEEEEEE
ARCHIE, YOU AND YOUR PRANKS! I’M GOING TO GET YOU JUST AS SOON AS I GET UNGLUED FROM MR. BUSH!!!
*Archie laughs and jumps over the side to help*
Where’d you even get superglue in the Napolionic wars, Archie? That doesn’t even make sense. But then again, neither does a sea full of socks.
Bush: *muffled from behind your hand* Can we worry about what makes sense later?
*giggles* okay, this IS kind of funny… X-P
Okay… let me try sonicing it!
Bush: I beg to differ. This is not funny.
Archie: Oh, lighten up. We’ll teach you to swim as soon as you can see again.
Me: *throws socks at random* Yay! 😀
*sonics it* Umm… does anyone have any olive oil?
On the other hand… *grabs Bush’s other hand with my other hand* Look! same size hands! 😛
Here. *tosses you some*
Bush: *pulls his hand away*
*finally detaches my hand* Good thing you shaved this morning, right? *shakes hand* Eugh. Time to do some exfoliating. 😛
Ugh. I hate superglue hands. I get plenty of that with the etsy shop with squink. 😛
Watch out that you don’t get any socks stuck to your… Too late.
Nope, they’re just snagged. The glue’s dry already. *hugs Bush for no good reason*
*Bush dunks under the socks* *Archie swims over and pulls him up* C’mon, just swim over to the raft.
*cheers him on*
*shoulders Bush up* You can’t drown in socks! Just don’t ingest them. They’re clean but that doesn’t make them edible.
Archie: *pushes from behind*
Me: You can do it! *paddles the raft a tiny bit closer*
*climbs aboard the raft* *lies back* oooh, this is nice *grabs Bush’s ankle and helps to pull him on board*

*drops something*
I’m just going to leave this here…
(#sassiestpersononthisbeach X-P)
Bush: *sits there gasping for breath*
*pats him on the back* didn’t swallow any socks, did you?
Oooh look the sky!!!
*squints up, shielding my eyes* Sock clouds? What?
No, just a pretty sky. Gah, the socks are still sticking to my hand. Snags are horrible. -_-
Just a lovely day on the sock sea. 🙂 Wasn’t that a nice swim, Mr. Bush?
*throws more socks at you*
*tips the raft and splashes socks on everyone*
*bush falls into the sock ocean* This is all your fault! *grabs him and tries to haul him out of the socks by main force*
Sorry! 😛 *helps you haul Bush out*
*gets lint in my hair* Gah!
*runs a hand over my hair* it’s hopeless. Curly hair in a sea of socks is never going to turn out well. 😛
Huh. All of the inhabitants of this raft have similar problems, don’t they. *picks lint out of my hair*
Bush: We wouldn’t have if we’d stayed on the ship. *scowls*
Me: Oh, c’mon. It’s worth a little lint for fun. 🙂
*begins picking lint out of Mr. Bush’s hair as well as Rosey’s and mine* *makes a little lint owl* *presents it to Bush* For you!
Aww… 😀 *pets it a little*
Archie: *smiles*
Bush: Am I the only one that finds that rather gross?
It’s an owl! Birds are ALL rather gross if you think about them enough!
Bush: *takes it cautiously*
Aren’t owls pretty? 😀
*Bush still looks doubtful*
Me:*pets the owl* I’ll take it if you don’t want it. It’ll be a great conversation starter.
*happily gives you the owl* Hum… I still need presents for everyone else… I’ll think about that. *vigorously towels off with a towel made entirely out of socks*
Well, we’ve already proven we can make pretty much anything out of socks. XD
*begins ferociously knitting a scarf* Here we go… X-P
*begins trying to make a sock vest* commence sock-craft! XP
*whispers* Hey Rosey, if it was me against the Doctor in a knitting contest, who’d win? 😛
Depends on who was more motivated, I’d say. But you’d both beat me. 😛
It would be a close thing X-P
Great choices! I will get to this as soon as I can 😉 And I completely agree about Matt Meese! He is hilarious.
Thanks! Yeah, Matt’s really fun. 🙂 You were actually my first exposure to Studio C when you linked a few videos, so thanks for that. XD
Really? I actually think that it was a blogger who first exposed ME to them, too!
One of the perks of blogging, I guess. 😀 Which ones are your favorites?
I love the Founding Father’s Fraternity, Shakespearean therapy, and anything with “Kyle”. How about you?
By the way, I did completely forget about this tag. I will make sure to do it next week!
I love those ones too, but Evil Memory Lapse and Google Translate always get me the most. XD All of them are great!
Cool! I’ll look forward to seeing it! 🙂
Ha! Those were great, too! The Practical Philosopher was hilarious, too! *Matt’s philosopher voice* “If at this point, you are still confused, then let’s be clear. You are your own enemy and not even your cognition can be trusted.” *Mournful voice* “My cognition, guys!”
Yes! That one was great! XD What was funny was, turns out Matt actually was a philosophy major. 😛
Flirting academy was great, too. “No, I’ve got a tissue, I can keep going.” XD
Ah, yes! Those are so much fun!
[…] Thursday, we have another tag, and it looks interesting and entertaining. Writefury nominated me for this tag, and if you are looking for a fun blog, I would suggest […]
Aahhh!! I LOVE Bolt too!!!! 😀 He’s SO adorable!! And those EARS!!!!!! :O 🙂 He reminds me a LOT of one of our dogs!! 😛 The cutest thing ever! 🙂 Our dog that reminds me of Bolt is named “Scout”! 😛 He shows A LOT of character that you wouldn’t even think is POSSIBLE! :O
