Mount Rushmore

So what do I do on election night, when everyone is feeling the least patriotic they’ve felt in a very long time?

I decide to post patriotic pictures of Mount Rushmore.

Go me.

So yep. Pictures from a few months ago when we drove by Mount Rushmore, finally seeing the actual thing after two thwarted attempts I shall not go into.

Enjoy.

From the parking lot top.

These pillars near the entrance were actually really cool. And I got it just right when there were no people so yay. :3

Did you know they have all the state flags in a cool sort of entrance to the monument? I didn’t. O.o

I don’t know, I liked the long shot because from all the touristy shots I never would have known there were trees down there. 😛 And I do so love pine trees…

Faith being SO CUUUUTE. <3<3<3

I just can barely stand it sometimes. The little smirk. ❤

Anyway, hope you liked the pictures!

Survive the election, ‘kay guys?

  1. I love the picture of the pillars. I’m currently up awaiting election results, but I’m getting tired enough I think I’m going to go to bed. They haven’t called it, but the election is leaning strongly one way.

  2. You actually had sunshine to see it. XD those are so pretty. 🙂 and the one with your sister is priceless. XD
when we went, it was very very foggy…we got to see it once before it got really bad, though. 😛 My dad, as a former military person, got to help with the flag ceremony at the end of the day, which was really cool. 🙂

    1. I know, right?
Blech. The other two times… so the park is open until like 10, okay. So we go to see it at 9:30 AND THEY TURNED THE FLIPPING LIGHTS OFF AT 8. LIKE WHY EVEN KEEP THE PARK OPEN PEOPLE WE CAN’T SEE ANYTHING.
And then second try, stupid google maps routed us to the back of Mount Rushmore… -.-

  3. Your photos are amazing! I’ve had no idea the area around Mount Rushmore (like the pine trees and pillars) even existed until I saw your photos!

Any thoughts?
