Happy Hanukkah!

Well, it’s that time of year again. Hanukkah begins tonight.

And, as all the previous years, I’m here to throw Hanukkah songs and latkes at everyone even though like none of you celebrate it.

So, on that note, let’s move on to the Maccabeats and their acapella, Hanukkah version of Hamilton.

Because really, you have to appreciate that.

And then their parody of “Shut Up and Dance”. Super hammed up latke recipe set to music. It’s gold, I tell you.

Anyway, my fam will be hanging out for the week, lighting the menorah and eating doughnuts. It’s the festival of doughnuts, come on.

So everybody at least have a doughnut this week for me.

That’s an order.

Have a great Hanukkah, everybody. ❀

See ya later,

  1. Festival of doughnuts, eh? I did not know that.
Hope you have a happy Hanukkah. πŸ˜€ Being Messianic Jews (that’s right, isn’t it? Sort of?) do you celebrate Christmas AND Hanukkah, or still just Hanukkah? Provided you don’t mind my asking, which I’m 99.9% certain you don’t. XD

    1. Festival of doughnuts yep. XD
We used to celebrate Christmas /and/ Hanukkah until I was about 6 or 7? But just the dynamic of just how much effort Christmas takes up building to one day when it’s not biblical + santa + the pagan roots, we sorta decided to ditch it. (We still get the good stuff like candy canes and eggnog from the store though so hey I’m content. XD)

      1. Eh yes, that makes tons of sense. We don’t do Santa and presents and all the typical stuff, but we do celebrate. And have Christmas lights, which are the coziest thing ever.
And for your information, homemade eggnog is FAR superior. XD

  2. That first video… oh my word. XD I’ve been reading 1st Maccabees for the first time and that song is /fantastic/.

Yes, Ma’am. I shall attempt to eat a doughnut. *salutes*

    Happy Hanukkah!

  3. festival of doughnuts, eh? man i wish we celebrated a week of fried pastry and potatoes. that would be heaven.

i shall try my hardest to eat a sweet circle goodness for you XD

    (and have a Happy Hanukkah<3)

  4. Heeeey, not all of us don’t celebrate Hanukkah! (my internal grammar police just went into cardiac arrest after that double negative, hahaha)
We’re actually on our way to our synagogue now to lead worship for our Hanukkah service! Praise be to Yeshua, the Light of the world, who has given us groups like the Maccabeats, Six13, and the Y-Studs… Their 1D Hanukkah mashup is awesome too 😊

Any thoughts?
