I saw Civil War with Daniel and Dad.
Let’s have some toffee.
Matzah Toffee
Ingredients:
4-6 sheets matzah (enough to cover your cookie sheet)
1 cup (2 sticks) butter
1 cup packed light brown sugar
A big pinch of sea salt
1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups semisweet or bittersweet chocolate chips
1 cup toasted chopped almonds or coconut (optional)
Extra sea salt for sprinkling (optional)
Instructions:
- Line a cookie sheet completely with foil or parchment paper. Cover the bottom with crunched up matzah in a fairly thick layer.
2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar together and stir over medium heat until it begins to boil. Once it has begun to boil, let it bubble for three more minutes, stirring it well. Remove from heat and add the salt and vanilla. Then quickly pour it over the matzah
3. Bake the matzah for 15 minutes at 350*F, watching that the corners don’t darken too quickly and burn. You can reduce the heat if needed.
4. Remove from the oven and cover immediately with chocolate chips. Let stand for 5 or more minutes until the chocolate chips are melty, then spread evenly across the top of the matzah.
5. Sprinkle on the nuts and/or salt, if you want.
6. Let cool for a little longer (until you can hold the pan without burning yourself) and put in the fridge or freezer to cool the rest of the way.
7. Cut or break into pieces and serve!

So … Civil War. How’d you like it? We got to see it on Fri., so that was pretty cool. My sister kept squealing. As did – I think – my brother. 😉

It was… intense. Good, but intense. 😛 Still on Team Cap, though Stark was by no means a bad dude. The airport scene was probably my favorite. (Though I really do wish they did more with Ant-Man and Spiderman. Both of them were awesome.)

Ooh! That toffee looks so good! 😍 Also — how was Civil War?!?!?! One of my teachers said it was (and I quote) “Meh. Just meh.” I really want to see it, although it breaks my heart to see my little Avengers fighting amongst each other 😦

It is. The plot is the last thing I’d gripe with. IT WAS SO TENSE. My jaw hurt afterwards because I was clenching my teeth. XD

Oh Civil War… I fangirled so hard when I saw the first trailer I spilled hot oatmeal in my lap… As long as there are no major spoilers I would LOVE a review. (I wait until I can see movies in my home and dictate how many times we need to stop the movie so I can rush in another room for something or fangirl as hard as I want to without getting glares)

Really good! A bit more on the violent side than most that I’ve seen (which doesn’t include the Thors and Ultron) but I really liked it. 🙂

*crying* I’m really worried now…. the fallout in the comics was… I found out about the event in the comics while trying to find out more about what “The Winter Soldier” was like in the comics. I’m very concerned…
