So, back a few (*cough* seven) months ago, Lalaithel tagged me for this lovely writer’s life tag thingy.

About time to do it, huh?

Pretty easy stuff. Answer some questions… tag some peeps… let’s go.

 

Write fuel: What do you eat while you’re writing?

Honestly, nothing. It’s usually too distracting for me.

Either I’m eating, or I’m writing. I can’t do both.

Though, I do admit that gum sometimes makes an appearance. 😉

 

Write sounds: What do you listen to while you’re writing?

“Rosey? Rosey? Hey, Rosey?” *taptap* “Could you Google what’s the biggest frog in the world?”

“Hey, Rosey? Can we watch ‘You Are My Cheeseburger’ on there?”

“Hey, Rosey. C’mere for a sec.”

So . . . siblings. A lot of the time. XD

I kid you not, that is genuine footage of my family.

Though soundtracks do happen a lot as well when I’m really buckling down to write. Some of those include: Tintin, Pirates of the Caribbean, How To Train Your Dragon and occasionally Captain America.

 

Write vice: What’s your most debilitating distraction?

Books and the internet.

The flag of research goes too far sometimes.

Write joy: What’s the best thing that’s ever happened to you while writing or how do you celebrate small victories?

Best thing . . . well, there are always the times when I just sit down really excited about an idea and the next thing I know I’ve written over a thousand words. That’s always fun.

And I really don’t celebrate small victories a whole lot. Though I have this thing when I’ve written something I really like. I just keep going back, reading over it and grinning.

 

Write horror: What’s the worst thing that’s ever happened to you while you were writing?

This thing was a disaster on so many fronts…

Write crew: Who do you communicate with (or not communicate with) while you’re writing?

Siblings are wonderful idea-bouncer-offers. So them, most commonly.

Then there are the Kingdom Pen and OYAN forums which are also quite wonderful and helpful with critiques and such. ❤

Write-spiration: What always makes you productive?

Ideas. I can go for quite a while if I like the idea of something.

Prompts are good too. I can usually crank out a good little story in pretty short order if I have a good prompt.

And deadlines.

Deadlines probably make me the most productive.

 

Write peeve: What’s one thing writers do (or you do) that’s annoying?

Correcting others’ grammar. I mean, yes . . . there is some pride in spotting mistakes in store signs or something. And there are places for correction. Where it would be less embarrassing if you corrected the grammar now.

But really. Sometimes the freak-out over it goes a little too far. You won’t stand on the last day and be judged by where you used “its” versus “it’s”.

 

Write words: Share one sentence from a project, past or present.

One sentence?

Boo.

Have a paragraph.

   “How’d you sleep last night, Jazz?” Frost asked, shoving some scrambled eggs in his mouth. Jazz poked at his eggs,

   “Horizontally. What about you?”

   Frost snickered, “Well, I guess I did too.”
