Since we’ve moved down to Missouri, I’ve been in a sad sort of photography slump.
I mean, I’ve taken pictures of little kids doing cute things and of our friends riding horses and random other things I thought were interesting, but I haven’t actually gone outside and thought: “This is a pretty place. I’m gonna go take pictures of everything in general.”
I was more of the attitude of: “There aren’t any mountains. There’s no ocean. This isn’t nearly as pretty as Washington. Why bother?”
But.
As of the other day, I have officially, as they say, “sucked it up”.
I went outside with my dogs, my Converse shoes and an empty afternoon and I took some pictures.
So there.

Now, observe my historic first Missouri photography post.
*fireworks and stuff*
So we’re staying with some friends who have horses. This is Bella. The one ducking shyly out of the photo is Winchester. Wave hi everyone. *waves*
That broken down old house near the main dirt road that no one lives in. It’s so cute it’s almost sad about the lead paint. </3
Bullwinkle on the right and his new friend, Tikvah, on the left. π
Bullwinkle doesn’t usually notice when I take pictures of him. But Tikvah’s on to me…
TREES. Look, there’s even a pine tree. It’s a very sparse pine tree population down here.
More of the cute little house. β€
A tractor-y… thing. I… really don’t know the proper name for that. But it looks very nice and country.
Leaves. *squints and pretends they’re fall leaves*
They actually just blew down and died in the storms we’ve been having here. The trees have yet to turn pretty colors.
Because I just have an unhealthy fascination with this little, lead-painted house. Someone drag me away before I poison myself.
My shoes by a tree. So sweet looking. β€
And I’m standing in my socks on acorns and leaves and wincing.
Tikvah checking out a pond. Bullwinkle was off to the right trying to drink out of it.
Not an idea that lasted long. π
Hope you guys enjoyed seeing a bit of Missouri for a change!
Now just to wait and plot until all the leaves turn colors… π
Which picture was your favorite?
Please comment!

Of course the ag kid over here was a fan of the tractor-y thing. I think (I just started working on a farm myself) it is what they use to gather dry material into rows to bail. Maybe. xD Not 100% sure on that. I also really liked the pics of the dogs and your shoes. π
It’s and antique hay rake. It looks like it’s the kind that horses would pull. XD
Okay that works too I guess XD
Aaaah, okay that would make sense. Didn’t look quite sturdy enough to be a plow. XD
Thanks! π
Aye! π Not a problem! π
Love all these!!! I especially love the ones with the hay rake and your shoes resting against the tree. Also, the next time y’all come to our house, you should bring your camera. We have mountain-ish hills. π
Thank you! π
I will try and remember to do that. π
Beautiful, Rosey! I love the one with Bullwinkle and Tikvah – so cute! π Also the one with your white Converse was adorable. β€ We miss you guys like crazy! One day we’ll have to take a trip around the U.S. and come visit you guys, that would be fun. π
They’re totally best buddies. β€
Thank you! We miss you guys like crazy too! Hope we can visit sometime soon. π
Missouri is so pretty! Not as pretty as Washington but your pictures make it look awesome. At least you live in the country, I live in the suburbs and it’s pretty boring here.
Yeah, I’m working the whole “southern-county” aspect of it. π There are a few more rivers, too. And maybe I’ll get some snake pictures… XD
Oh snakes! I loveee snakes!!! And rivers… can you swim in them or are they too fast???
You’d love it here then! XD My little brother almost picked up a copperhead the other day because he thought it was paracord. O.O
The river (at least the one near us) is extremely slow. I floated it in July and it was pretty fun, though my arms got sore from paddling… XD
Ahhh! Snakes yay!! My friend found a snake n his house so we kept it. She was really nice and liked to hide in my sweatshirt.
Fun! I love rivers and lakes that you can swim in. Although I like the ocean more.
They’re lovely, Rosey. It’s a completely different genre of photography, and you’ve done a wonderful job with it. π
The horse picture and your shoes are my two favorites. The house is lovely too. A mystery may very well be hiding somewhere beneath all that lead paint. π
Thank you! β€
You may be right… I'll have to go try and get inside now. *goes for my ninja things*
Ahhhh I love them all. Especially the fallen leaves and the shoes. And you’ve got a much prettier place for photography than I do here in the suburbs of a metropolis. XD
Thanks! π
Yeah, we’re still looking at were we’re going to actually move after baby makes its arrival and suburb possibilities somewhat worry me .-.
Cool horses! XD I also like the ones of the house and hay rake. I hope you find lots of cool Missouri stuff to photograph (though to be honest I did really like the Washington stuff but hey Missouri is good too XP ).
Thanks! π
(yeah, I liked the WA stuff too. But it’s about finding beauty in the little stuff, not moping cuz I’m not where I was. π )
You have such a gift for photography. ^-^ super pretty! π
Thank you! ^_^
Missouri looks like a beautiful place! The little house is so cute. β€ I love the pictures, especially the ones of the shoes and the leaves!
I’ve been told it’s quite spectacular in the fall, so hopefully I’ll get some even better ones then! π
Gorgeous pictures! I especially loved the “fall” leaves. π
Thanks! Well, they did technically “fall”… π
These are gorgeous! Where there’s a will, there’s a way! I love the country/farm atmosphere of this collection. Absolutely lovely.
Thanks, Elisabeth! π Yep, there’s a lot to take pictures of if you just look for it. π
Seems it didn’t take you long, either. π
TIKVAH IS SO CUTE! Is he a chocolate lab?! π We used to have a black lab. I love Labrador Retrievers.
Oh, and by the way, “Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation” was just added to Amazon Prime, so I plan on watching it sometime soon π
She, actually. And yep! Chocolate lab! β€ Labs are so sweet. She's a bit of a hunter, though, so we have to watch her around the ducks. :S
X-D Awwww! I love labs π
Me too! π
(also, on your first comment, YESSSSS ROGUE NATION <33)
X-D I will have to set aside some time to watch it π
YOU WILL LOVE IT
THE SPY STUFFFFSSSS

I took photos of my Captain America jacket! Wore your pendant, too π
Awesome! π
