Well, folks. Tonight is the holiday of Shavout, celebrating the giving of the torah at Mount Sinai.
We stay up all night, we drink lots of coffee, we read the Bible…
And we also eat heavenly cheesecake.
So, I thought it would be a good day to share our family’s favorite homemade cheesecake recipe and you can all join in on the celebration somehow.
Because, c’mon…. who doesn’t want another excuse for cheesecake?
And I’m giving you one. You’re welcome.
Nerak’s Homemade Cheesecake
Crust:
- 2T sugar
- 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
- 1/2 cup butter, soft
- Stir together, pack down.
Filling:
- 16 oz of cream cheese
- 2/3 cup of sugar
- 1/4 t. vanilla
- 1/2 t. almond extract
Pour in. Bake at 350*F for 20 minutes.
While that bakes, stir together the topping:
1/2 pt. sour cream
5 t. sugar
1/2 t. vanilla
Pour on topping. Bake for 15 minutes more. Chill overnight.
Well, hope you all enjoy that.
I’ll be over here overloading on coffee and then being exhausted.
See you all next time,
~writefury
Chag sameach!! And thank you for the recipe! 🙂
Hope you enjoy it! 🙂
Cheescake is one of my favoritest ever things. YUM.
Have a good holiday, and don’t die of caffiene overdose. 😀
IT’S SO GOOD. ❤
Well, I didn't quite die, so that's good. XD
Very good. XD
Enjoy your holiday, Writefury! It’s always good to celebrate the word of God!
Thanks! And amen. 😛
Just for clarification, for those trying to make the recipe, the amount on the graham cracker crumbs is a cup and a half, not one-twelfth of a cup, as is showing on my phone…
Is that gif supposed to be that glitchy?
Also, I need to try this!
