I surprised myself last week with how well pictures can turn out when taken out of the window of a moving vehicle. So, never be discouraged on a road trip when you can’t stop ever time there’s an awesome picture to be taken. But, *ahem* don’t forget to clean your window. That’s my secret. 😛
Anyway, that accounts for the blurry foreground trees in the mountain shots.
But, all Diablo Lake pictures were taken from a standstill. No one just drives past all that bright turquoise water and doesn’t stop.
So, roughly in the order I took them, here are my shots from the ride:
That’s the site of the Oso mudslide that took place about a year and a half ago. Still pretty wiped out.
The famous view of Diablo Lake. Seriously, no doctoring on this picture. The water is actually colored like that. You should see the river going out the dam. It looks like someone dropped food coloring in it.
Cool tree with an old photo effect.
That one was fun to focus. Doesn’t it look miniature?
I tell you, I was scrambling for my camera along this stretch.
Liberty Bell Mountain, I believe.
This one looks like something out of How To Train Your Dragon. 😉
I have more pictures of our destination to put up later, too.
Hope you guys enjoyed!
What was your favorite? Please comment!

Oh, wow! These are gorgeous! Most of them it’s impossible to tell that they were taken out of a car window! It’s so hard to pick a favorite, but I really love the second one. I love water pictures. 😉
I know! It was so cool when we stopped there! There was a drop off right outside the rail and wind was blowing up at everyone. It was a nice break from the car. 😉
Oh yes!
Wowww the water is such a perfect color.
Yeah, all of us asked mom or dad at least once why it was that color. 😛
Amazing photos! I love them all!
Thanks! Glad you liked them! 🙂
That’s amazing, as always 😀
I WANT TO GO THERE AND PLAY HTTYD WITH YOU!!! X-P and we shall pretend to be dragon trainers. That would be fun X-D
Do you think it’s odd that I have an idea for cosplay with just about everyone I meet online? I’d either do Hornblower or HTTYD with you, I’d do Doctor Who with Iris (though she doesn’t count because I know her in real life and actually got her into blogging *preens*), and I’d do Star Wars with Rosalie. 😛
OH GOODNESS YES! XD That would be so fun!
You should see the view on highway 2 up to Leavenworth. Seriously, I feel like I’m driving through Berk. 🙂
AWESOME! X-D
I want to go there….
Plenty of mountains to climb, too. 🙂 Though we lack dragons… maybe we could train sasquach.
*rolls on floor laughing*
Imaginary dragons are better than none, though! 😛
Well, that would kind of ruin hiccup’s moment… *hold out hand dramatically to touch imaginary dragon* XD
You never know. There might be invisible dragons? ;-P
That’s it! I bet there are changewings around every corner! Well then, *rubs hands* we have a plan. 🙂
X-D Yesssss X-D Watch out for the acid spitting and don’t let ’em hypnotize you!
Okay, I’ll wear an acid-proof vest and sunglasses. 😉
Coolness. X-D
[…] backlog here. I took these back in July and never got around to posting them, though I did post pictures from on the way driving up. Just looking back through older photos and thought “Heeey… I never did post […]
